Become an Assistant Editor

The SAIS Review is seeking assistant editors for the 2017-2018 school year. Students apply to become editors for many reasons: to improve their editing and writing skills, to learn about unfamiliar academic areas, to explore careers in research and journalism, to publish their work online and in print, and to meet other students with the same interests.

Assistant editors are responsible for a variety of tasks, including copy editing, planning events and lectures, conducting interviews, and writing for the print and online editions. Assistant editors also propose and develop themes for each issue of the SAIS Review, and work closely with potential contributors.

The time commitment for assistant editors consists of approximately ten hours per semester of editing and journal development, including occasional staff meetings.
