Editor-in-Chief – Jessica Sobrino

Jessica Sobrino is a second-year MA candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she is studying international relations and economics. As a Strategic Studies concentrator, Jessica is focusing her coursework in U.S. national security issues. Prior to SAIS, Jessica worked for think tanks in Cairo, the District of Columbia, and Doha, including most recently with the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the Brookings Institution’s Doha Center. She graduated in 2010 from the honors program at Boston College, where she earned degrees in Political Science and Islamic Civilization and Societies.

Fall Senior Editor – Emily Walz

Emily Walz is a master of arts candidate in the China Studies department at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University-Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies.

Spring Senior Editor – Patrick Rear

Patrick Rear is a second-year MA candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where he is pursuing a concentration in Conflict Management. During his first year at SAIS Europe, Patrick wrote for the SAIS Observer and served as the Executive Editor of Content for the SAIS Europe Journal of Global Affairs. Patrick is a 2014 graduate of Pepperdine University, where he received degrees in International Politics and German.

Managing Editor – Shuja Malik

Shuja Malik is a second-year MA candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Prior to SAIS, he has worked as a producer with the BBC Urdu Service in Islamabad, as an Research Associate with a doctoral candidate from Johns Hopkins University, and as an intern with Pakistan government’s Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Relations. Shuja holds a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of Punjab and a Masters in International Relations from Quaid-e-Azam University of Islamabad.

Web Editor & Publicity Director – Brittany Coley

Brittany Coley is a second-year MA candidate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she is pursuing a concentration in China Studies. Prior to SAIS, she was a fellow with Teach for China in Shantou, China. Brittany is a 2013 graduate of Wake Forest University, where she received a degree in Politics and International Affairs.
